Important Info. before heading out!

    • We would prefer you to call the farm before heading out, so many variables can effect your outing. Berry ripening, Weather, Berry availability, etc.

  • If you would like us to pick the berries for you they are $20.00 a gallon & you must call & order the berries at least a day or two before picking them up. The farm number is 985-839-2987, Mobile number is 985-515-3211. We do not have a picking crew, so please allow us time to get them ready for you, the “We Pick’em” is mainly for the elderly, or disabled who cannot get into the field.

  • The farm will be open 7am to 5pm on Wed.- Sat. & Sun. So CALL THE FARM BEFORE COMING. We want to make sure we have ripe berries available for you when you get here.

  • An adult can pick a gallon in about 30-40 mins.

  •   Picking buckets are provided, but please bring a flat container such as a soda drink flat or baking pans, if you plan to pick several gallons. The berry bags SHOULD STAY OPEN for the ride home.

  • Bring sun protection if it’s a problem for you.

  •   Wear full feet covering shoes, no flip-flops or the sort.

  •  Please mind your children accordingly for their age, And be sure to show them to “Only pick dark blue ripe ones”. Make sure to inform them to “WATCH OUT FOR THE ANTS & WASPS”.

  • The rows have been treated for ants, but that don’t mean you won’t encounter some, so be on the lookout! The mulched rows are ideal ant beds & it’s very hard to kill every single one while avoiding harsh pesticides, we try to keep the farm as natural as we can, so just beware of the ants. Occasionally wasps will build nests in the bushes, so be aware and always be on the lookout for these pests.

  • Please feel free to come sit under the porch & cool off anytime while picking. We will have cold water available for free.

  • Don’t forget to pickup some of Mrs D’s delicious Blueberry Jelly. She may have other kinds made as well!

  • PLEASE: NO PETS ALLOWED, We have two spoiled dogs “Hank & Dixie”, they may bark when you first drive up, but they are “All Bark No Bite”. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AFRAID, THEY ARE HARMLESS. But Hank will hurt other dogs, he is territorial and will act viciously toward other pets.

  • PROPER CARE FOR FRESH BLUEBERRIES

  • Leave the bag open so air can get in & try to keep them cool. Remove stems & debris.

  • Do not wash berries for the freezer THEY MUST BE DRY BEFORE FREEZING, you can wash before use.

  • If you want to wash the ones for the fridge, you must let them dry before you put them up. We have found that spreading a beach towel out on the kitchen table and dumping them on it works best, then after you sort them  just pickup the corners and pour into your containers. Store in fridge in something like tupperware. Keep Time around 2 weeks.

  • NOTE: This Blueberry Sauce is down right AWESOME, it will keep in the fridge & is delicious with just about anything. Check it out:   Blueberry Sauce
